I've been passionate about photography since I was big enough to hold a camera. Some of my first photographs are pretty hilarious. Extreme closeups of my old dog, really weird angles of anything laying around the house, and pictures of anything that was colorful. They really do make me laugh. I got my Canon at 13. It never left my side. I joined the yearbook staff and I was the photo editor/manager. When it was time to "pick your career" in high school, I chose photography. I researched it, wrote papers about it, and talked to a lot of other photographers to learn all I could about the art. But, I realized photography wasn't a good way to earn a lot of money fast, which is what I wanted (but who doesn't) so I went off to college to find something else. I had to take some time off from photography at this time. I was seriously afraid to leave my camera in my dorm room because I had heard so many horror stories about things getting stolen, so I took a year off. I was in college first to become a marine biologist, then a criminologist, then a sociologist, and I HATED it! I feel like hated isn't even a strong enough word. I just hated college in general. Everything was expensive. Nothing was working out for me. I couldn't get the classes I needed, and I was headed to a 7 year college career, and everyone that I talked to said I would not get a job after college because the market was so bad. I started thinking about other things that I could do with my life. I was looking around my room and saw pictures that I had taken. I knew right then and there that I needed to go back to my first love : photography. No doubt about it. I started this Etsy site, and friends started wanting me to take family pictures for them. Then came the Facebook page, and finally my actually website! Everything is working out for me and I couldn't be happier. This is where I'm supposed to be :)
